We’re thrilled that MTI CEO Freddie Gershon is lending his “virtual” voice to the online chorus with insightful articles written for The Huffington Post.  Last week, Freddie highlighted the impact of pop cultural icons such as Glee and Disney’s HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL on the art of performance – especially singing, dancing and acting.  Suddenly, it seems, that stuff is back in a BIG way.

But this week, Freddie shows that through a familiar little depression-era orphan, the vibrancy of musical theatre and live performance has never really left us.  In fact, it’s new modes of communicating and sharing that can bring us all a little closer to TOMORROW!

Great article Freddie. Now that the tour has ended the show is more available to amateur groups wishing to produce it. Anyone interested should apply through the website. http://www.mtishows.com/show_detail.asp?showid=000005

This is such a great opportunity for Broadway! Annie being so inspirational to so many young performers world wide will be very exciting to see. I have a feeling this revival will be a HUGE landmark in Broadway history.

I can’t wait! I’m so intersted to see how my generation (nearly 30) will respond to the Annie that we grew up with. I watched the film and listened to the soundtrack obsessively as a child. And now a whole new generation of young girls will have a gutsy red headed heroine to look up to (I’m red head myself so maybe a little biased).

Does anyone know what changes/additions are being made to the book?

I’m pleased for Victoria. Redheads will be back in fashion all of a sudden. My question is will book revisions mean it counts as a revival when it comes to the Tonys?
