License the rights to perform FLAT STANLEY JR. from Music Theatre InternationalFlat Stanley, the beloved children’s book written by Jeff Brown in 1964 has become a literary and pop cultural phenomenon – delighting readers and travelers all around the world.  And now, MTI has taken everyone’s favorite two-dimensional hero and given him a new life on the stage.  THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEY JR. – the newest addition to the MTI Broadway Junior Collection is now available for licensing.  This means, you can bring the entire Lambchop family to YOUR stage!

Who is Stanley Lambchop?

Stanley Lambchop is your ordinary, every day, run-of-the-mill ten-year-old: normal mom and dad, normal little brother, normal life. That’s just the problem…for Stanley, life is too normal. He wants to travel the world, do something amazing, something no one’s ever seen before. Careful what you wish for, Stanley!

VIDEO: Meet the Lambchops!

One night, the bulletin board on the wall above Stanley’s bed comes loose and falls. Right on top of Stanley! And the next morning, Stanley Lambchop wakes up flat. Not just a little flat…really, REALLY flat! At first it’s not so bad. He can slide under locked doors, roll up like a mat, become a trampoline. His friends fly him like a kite. And Stanley’s the best in his class at hide-and-seek: He just turns to the side and virtually disappears. But he can’t stay flat forever – someone has to do something. And that someone in Stanley! Stanley puts himself in a big envelope and travels the world – a human letter.

And the adventure begins!

In a whirlwind musical travelogue, Stanley – the ultimate exchange student – scours the globe for a solution to his unusual problem. He’s stamped, posted and canceled from Hollywood to France to Honolulu and beyond. And whether he’s thwarting a robbery at the Louvre Museum in Paris, or ‘hanging ten’ off the coast of Hawaii, Stanley is closing in on his goal of being a three-dimensional boy once more.

The Songs

Tunes like “I Wish I Was a Hero” feature a slew of fun pop-culture references from  “Harry Potter” to “Star Wars”, making the show accessible and fun for younger performers.

As with all MTI Broadway Junior Collection shows, THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEY JR. comes with a pre-recorded performance accompaniment CD.

Today was like riding my bike for the first time without training wheels! The NEW SHOWKITS!! 3 ring, new format, iTips, media discs, editable forms and programs, resources galore, and still all the hand holding you need with Show Support. And like every good show, YOU put your own input into a very personalized Director’s Guide. Anxious to hear what you all think, and am a wee bit biased but am very proud of everyone’s combined efforts including all the great kids from the test pilots! We’ve come along way baby from the first “Annie JR” written on an Apple 2E! (I know, whats that, right?) If only I had Tim’s video Flat Suit instructions BEFORE I put the first pilot suit together backwards! You have alot to look forward to everyone..all the new guides as well all of the Legacy series(Guys and Dolls JR, Once On This Island JR., Music Man JR, Godspell etc. will ALL be done in this accessible format. Anxious for your feedback on showspace! http://www.mtishowspace.com/show_support.php

Thought that you and Amelia might want to try making a FLAT STANLEY outfit…looks like a lot of fun and I have plenty of cardboard…you probably do too.
