Eighty-five students from the Holy Ghost Catholic School (Hammond, LA) will be attending the 2011 Junior Theater Festival according to the Hammond Daily Star.
The Holy Ghost Drama Club has a rich history at the festival. At the 2009 festival, Holy Ghost students presented a selection from Disney’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND JR. At the 2010 Junior Theater Festival, Holy Ghost student Connor Scott won the “Freddie G. Hardest-Working Male” award. At the 2011 festival, Holy Ghost students will perform selections from Roald Dahl’s WILLY WONKA JR.
The Junior Theater Festival is an invitation-only event, presented by Music Theatre International and produced by iTheatrics and Atlanta’s Theater of the Stars. It is the world’s largest musical theatre festival dedicated to groups working with elementary and middle school students.
