In 1897, one precocious girl named Virginia O’Hanlon was determined to find out if Santa Claus really exists. She boldly asked the question and her letter to The New York Sun prompted one of the most famous newspaper editorials of all time, and inspired future generations to believe in the holiday spirit.
YES, VIRGINIA THE MUSICAL is a brand-new musical based on Virginia O’Hanlon’s true story that has been adapted specifically for school children by Macy’s. In 2008, Macy’s partnered with the Make-a-Wish-Foundation to create their Believe campaign based on this “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus” editorial and has since adapted the story into an animated television special, a children’s book and now for the first time it is available to perform live.

Will the “Yes, Virginia” script and toolkit resources be available in the near future? I reviewed the show and downloaded the musical scores last fall. Am considering the show for fall 2013 with my students, and would appreciate any information you can provide.

Yes, Macy’s is looking to provide “Yes, Virginia” again this back to school/holiday season but I am not sure to what extent or when it will be posted and available. As soon as MTI finds out more information we will be sure to post it and get it out to our customers. Thanks so much.
